The Water Element

guest blog by Rosy Kirk

"I Am Elemental - Water”
Our glorious blue planet,
An iridescent pearl hanging in the dark space
Blue~Because of water.

Greetings loves!

Which element do you consider the most powerful; earth, water, fire, or air? In theory, there is no true all powerful element because they all rely on each other to survive. Yet, if I had to pick one, I would pick Water.

🜄 Water can move around any obstacle in its path without losing its essential nature.

🜄 Water is gentle

And yet, it created the Grand Canyon!

🜄 We are essentially water, born in water, and remain 70 percent water.

Without~ we die.

Water Element ~ the second chakra

Water is the element associated with the second chakra and is located between the naval and the pubic bone. Thinking about the nature of water, we recognize qualities of ebbing and flowing, cleansing, healing, and softness.

Water implies movement. Resisting change and movement, leads to rigidness and tightness. This creates a dam with us so that Water can no longer flow freely. We become dry. In Oula, we intentionally practice breath, flexibility, grace, and awareness to help keep our chakras open, balanced, and energetically flowing. Oula can help you find ways to destroy the blockage inside you, follow the path of least resistance, move with the current of life, and learn to accept the change as it’s happening. So, when the tsunami comes crashing through, and somedays it will, we are better prepared to stay afloat and “Go with the flow.”

Bruce Lee said~

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water.”

Final thoughts

Water always rises to its own level to balance out or equalize, just like two containers or bodies of water that are connected in some way will match levels.

I believe for humans, this means souls gravitate toward each other. And, when we let our Oula light shine; overflow with love, empathy, compassion, and grace, souls will gravitate to that level of goodness.

☯️ Go with the flow

Did you know that the hands are said to be closely connected to the brain, especially through neural activation? Therefore, the way you hold your hands in meditation or prayer, can impact the way you hold your mind, making Hand Mudras  a particularly powerful tool.

🜄 Water Mudra

The water element is associated with the little finger, the thumb nourishes and amplifies the element it connects to, so, create a seal with the pinky finger and thumb of both hands to establish Jal Mudra.

Do not engage too hard, you only want to feel a gentle pressure. Let the other fingers soften down as if the hands were floating in water. Explore whether you want the palms to face up or down. This hand gesture balances the circuitry of Water in the body, opens the gateway into the flow of feeling, and the movements of change in life.

I see you

I see the divine in you ~
