We are excited to announce that we are now hiring for Oula Trainers,  Choreographers, and OWLS!

We will be hiring more than one independent contractor for each position and are looking forward to seeing the applications come in. Application deadlines are listed below, then interviews will kick-off in July.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL

  • When is the deadline for submitting my application?

The deadline for all trainer and choreographer applications is July 4, and the deadline for all OWLS applications is July 8.

  • Where can I find the job description in the application form?

First, scroll down within the text box up top, then a scroll bar will appear to the right of the text.

  • I don’t meet all the required qualifications - should I still apply?

YES! These are listed because we think they’ll be valuable in the role, but so much of a job interview is showing you can learn quickly and
give it your all.

  • I teach in the online studio, can I use that as my submission video?

Yes, the three participants are just a suggestion.

  • When will I be contacted about my application?

You’ll be receiving a follow-up call in July to schedule your first interview! Depending upon the number of applicants, we hope to finish
interviews by the end of July and make decisions within the first week of August. We ask for some understanding, as we may need to
extend second-round interviews into August if there are more applicants than available interview hours in the month of July.

TRAINERS

  • Have any trainers already been hired?

No, all instructors who have provided interim training support are subject to the same application and interview process described above.

  • How many trainer positions are available?

We anticipate hiring as many as 10, though this will be determined by the hiring panel.

  • How will the Lead Trainer be selected?

The Lead Trainer will be selected upon completion of all first-round interviews. In addition to the responsibilities listed in the job description,
this person will coordinate logistics such as training dates, times, locations, communications, etc. and will be considered the point person for the training team. Once hired, the Lead Trainer will be asked to sit in on second-round interviews, as well.

  • Will the Lead Trainer be compensated differently?

Yes, administrative work will be compensated at an additional $15 per hour.

  • How many trainings will there be each year?

Within the first year, we anticipate hosting two to four Empowerment Weekends, with a goal to eventually host as many as 12 per year.
We’re looking to hire many trainers because burnout is real!

  • Will trainers be cross-trained for the other Oula formats?

Yes! We are looking to create an Empowerment Weekend experience for each format and will ask interested trainers to move into those
spaces to help develop the certification processes. We will also open applications for One and Power trainers at a later date.

  • How many trainers will be at each Empowerment Weekend?

Our plan at this time is for two to four trainers to facilitate each Empowerment Weekend, depending on location and need. Of course, we will try out this strategy and adjust as needed. Factors such as travel, availability, and demand will all be considered as each weekend is planned.

CHOREOGRAPHERS

  • Have any choreographers already been hired?

No, our Interim Choreographer, Amanda, is subject to the same application and interview process described above.

  • How many choreographer positions are available?

We anticipate hiring as many as three, though this will be determined by the hiring panel.

  • How will the Lead Choreographer be selected?

The Lead Choreographer will be selected upon completion of all first-round interviews. In addition to the responsibilities listed in the job
description, this person will coordinate logistics such as recording, posts, communications, etc. and will be considered the point person for
the choreography team. They will also ensure choreography utilizes common Oula moves as needed and maintain communication with
Emilie and Jenna to avoid song duplication across formats. Once hired, the Lead Choreographer will be asked to sit in on second-round
interviews, as well.

  • Will the Lead Choreographer be compensated differently?

Yes, administrative work will be compensated at an additional $15 per hour.

  • Will choreographers do an entire Top 10 and then switch?

The intention at this time is to have each incoming choreographer choreograph a complete Top 10, one after the other. The team of
choreographers will work collaboratively through the logistics (song selection, move selection, story-telling, recording, etc.) to determine
how to accomplish this successfully and smoothly.

  • If I am currently injured or have extenuating circumstances which inhibit my ability to choreograph right now, should I still apply?

determine it is not the right time, know there will be other opportunities in the future!

OULA WINGS LENDING SUPPORT (OWLS)

  • How many OWLS positions are available?

We anticipate hiring two to four OWLS members in the coming months. The idea is to phase in two new members immediately to fill the
spots that were vacated earlier in the year by Christina and Chelle. We’ll continue to hire new members in order to amplify a variety of voices, and allow seasoned members to step away because again, burnout is real!

  • How will the Lead Wing be selected?

The Lead Wing will be selected upon completion of all first-round interviews. In addition to the responsibilities listed in the job description,
this person will coordinate logistics related to posts, communications, mentorship, etc. and will be considered the point person for the
OWLS team. Once hired, the Lead Wing will be asked to sit in on second-round interviews, as well.
