What’s your story? Tell us about yourself.

I'm a former business executive and current mom living in Scottsdale, Arizona. I discovered Oula when my best friend invited me to Oulacation–since then I have attended 3 Oulacations and am currently getting certified to teach Oula so that we can have Oula where I live in Arizona. 

What Oula song is on your playlist most often and what do you like about it?

I am obsessed with all Oula One [now Soul Flow by Oula Fitness] songs. In fact, my husband’s and my first dance at our wedding was from Release 12: “Loveland” by Milky Chance.

An Oulakin is visiting your town for the first time ever! What should they do or see?

If it is spring, go to a Spring Training baseball game (I'm a huge baseball fan!) If it is summer, then tube the Salt River and maybe catch sight of wild horses. If it's fall, dine outside on a warm desert evening at one of Scottsdale’s many awesome restaurants. And if it's winter, hike Camelback mountain.  

Oula's theme this year is "Learn, Grow, Lead." What does that mean to you?

I spent many years managing large teams–trying to learn, grow, and lead myself along with others. Today I do the same as a mama of two. I've found that the best way to influence or lead is to bring the energy that you want others to have–they will emulate you, if not immediately, eventually. You are the product of the people you spend the most time with, so surround yourself with people you want to grow to be like, and challenge yourself to be the positive energy that changes and grows those around you.

What book, podcast, or show do you recommend for fellow Oulakins?

I frequently recommend "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" by Mark Manson. It's something that I think many people should read sometime in their life. You can get the majority of the book by readingthis consensed-into-an-article version.
