As we transition from 'I Am Everything' to our new affirmation of 'I Am Elemental,' I want to take a moment to recognize this is a big jump in the way we think about ourselves and how that plays a part in Oula.

EVERYTHING. That is such an enormous, profuse word. It can be overwhelming for some, and mean the world to others. Living up to being everything to someone or something can feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders or can be uplifting, depending on your situation.

I am a perfectionist. If my name is attached to something, I want to make sure it is done to the best of my ability and will work to make it so. Is that realistic? Hell no. There is not enough time in the day to make everything I touch turn to gold. And that would make me inhuman. But I’m still hard on myself when things don’t go exactly as planned. Take the other weekend for example. I participated in my first Empowerment Weekend as a trainer. I was excited, nervous... all the feels. And during the portion of the second Connection Class that I was leading, I kept making little mistakes and almost fell at one point. This was so not like me. I was so frustrated with myself afterwards, I needed to take a moment. Thankfully, the training team was able to continue the class and get the energy going.

That’s what is so great about Oulayou don’t have to be everything to show up to class, to teach, to be part of a committee, to be an advocate of Oula, to be part of headquarters, to be involved in any way with Oula. We each have our own unique experiences, beliefs, and values that make us who we are. It is these “elements” that are needed to continue to build and grow Oula. It’s what makes Oula a team.

What is your element you bring to Oula? What is your sparkan idea, a characteristic, a skillthat you can tap into? Maybe it’s being an advocate to get Oula into a new gym/facility you go to. Maybe it’s being active on socials to get awareness of Oula. Maybe it’s continuing to show up as your authentic selves each and every week to classes. We want to hear from you. Please share your spark on the Oula Community page.

All it takes is one spark to start a fire.
