After people watch me dance, I often hear- "Wow, you have so much energy!"

But that's not entirely true. Music has so much energy and I'm able to let it into my body and move it through and with me. What people don't see is the almost daily afternoon nap I have to take 😂

What I have is trust. I trust my body. I trust my voice. I trust the people I'm dancing with that we can hold space for big energy with each other.

OULA isn't about dancing. OULA is about trusting. It's about trusting ourselves to take up space and sing off key and risk going the wrong direction (do you see how these are all literal and also metaphors?) so that we can experience freedom. When we can safely experience this in OULA, it's almost like we are creating muscle memory so that we can trust ourselves, our bodies, our voices and each other in other areas in our lives.

After sharing something recently with a friend, she said to me "One aspect of what I really appreciate and love about you is I know you're always coming from your truth. That feels very safe to me."

When we speak and act (and dance!) from our truth, it makes people feel safe to share their truths, too.

Trust creates safety. Safety allows for truth. Truth sets us free. Pass it on. ✌️
